Kate Moss, the eternal style queen, is indulging in a bit of boho chic in a pair of platform mules at Paris Fashion Week. While she’s a rock chick at heart, given all those decadent summer jaunts to the White Isle or Saint-Tropez, her beachy streak is always ready to break free. Seen outside the Stella McCartney autumn/winter 2025 show, Kate blended a hint of boho with her signature staples: skinny jeans and a leather jacket.

For many of us, the boho revival might feel a little daunting – suede waistcoats and chunky belts are best left in the archives – but if anyone can make us rethink it, it’s the poster girl for Noughties nostalgia. Consider this a gentle nudge toward wooden soles and free-spirited touches, rather than a full-blown throwback. And it’s not just Kate embracing the past – various versions of the retro style have been making its mark across fashion week. Last year saw Chloé’s Maxime wedges dominating the front row at the brand’s autumn/winter 2024 show – presumably by design, rather than every stylist coincidentally having the same lightbulb moment that morning – and this season, boho style seems to be growing ever stronger among the street-style set.

For the heel-averse and clog-cautious, there are plenty of ways to dip a toe into the trend, from classic wooden soles at Isabel Marant to the Meghan Markle-approved rubber gardening clog. So whether you’re going full boho mode or just flirting with a blast from the past, there’s a wood-soled shoe for everyone.
