“Seduction” was the word du jour at Haider Ackermann’s first show for Tom Ford. The designer’s autumn/winter 2025 collection, presented yesterday at Paris Fashion Week, was coupled with a beauty look inspired by a familiar muse: Tippi Hedren in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds.
Lucy Bridge, the show’s head make-up artist, created an almost translucent complexion on models, adding a retro accent with pastel eyeshadows and finishing with a dark red lip. The lip look was designed to inspire thoughts of being kissed, per Ackermann’s brief. Backstage, Bridge shared exactly how to reproduce these “kissable” lips in three key steps.
Exactly how to create the Tom Ford “kissable” lip
Tom Ford Beauty’s Lip Pencil in the shade Private Client is used to define the contours of the mouth, and to create a base for the lipstick.
To achieve the intense red, Bridge mixed two shades of Lip Color lipstick from the Tom Ford Beauty range: the vibrant red 16 Scarlet Rouge, and the burgundy 18 Unzip. This blend created a bewitching, jammy shade of red.
Bridge applied the Tom Ford Gloss Luxe in shade 01 Disclosure as a finishing touch. This final step was kept until just 10 minutes before the start of the show, to make sure the glaze maintained its glossy shine throughout.
